B-Line series channels are fabricated using components that are cold-formed in modern rolling mills. Metal framing channel is made from 12-gauge (2.6mm), 14-gauge (1.9mm) and 16-gauge (1.5mm) low-carbon steel strips. A continuous slot with inturned lips provides the ability to make attachments at any point.
For additional specifications and details, refer to the B-Line series strut system catalog.
Eaton’s quality assurance program is in compliance with ISO 9001:2008, as well as many other industry standards and specifications.
Unless otherwise noted in our strut system catalog, the material used is steel. Multiple finishes are available for maximum design flexibility. A minimum order size may be required for special materials or finishes. Finishes include:
The design loads given for strut beam loads are based on a simple beam condition using an allowable stress of 25,000 psi. The allowable stress results in a safety of 1.68. The safety factor is based on virgin steel minimum yield strength of 33,000 psi cold worked during rolling to an average yield stress of 42,000 psi. For aluminum channel loading, multiply steel loading by a factor of 0.38.
