Supporting a 26-plant petrochemical complex launch in a single phase.

“Out in front.” That’s what Sadara means in Arabic. And it’s precisely what the Sadara Chemical Company sought to illustrate with the launch of the largest chemical production facility that the world has ever seen. All constructed in a single phase. When it came to establishing a safe, reliable power distribution system to fully support its 26 sophisticated manufacturing plants, Sadara turned to Eaton.

Thinking, and delivering, on a truly grand scale.

Sadara is designing the complex with the capability to output more than 3 million tons of products every year. It will drive vital industries throughout the region including the rapidly expanding energy, transportation, infrastructure and consumer product sectors.

Sadara is one industry leader that looks beyond what’s possible today. Eaton’s global reach, expertise, innovation and leadership helped Sadara think on a grand scale—delivering superior performance and safety across control, distribution and lighting solutions.

Eaton takes safety to a new level for Sadara, while helping to keep operations up and running around the clock. Arc-resistant AMPGARD AR medium voltage motor control centers (MCCs) emphasize arc flash prevention to maximize safety during operation and minimize maintenance hazards.

To ensure accurate power control of Sadara’s constantly operating motors, Eaton provided Freedom 2100 low voltage MCCs with an integrated design that combine control and distribution to help standardize the platform.

Eaton’s global capabilities helped expedite the fabrication and delivery of Eaton’s Bussmann series Quik-Spec coordination panelboards. By integrating a fuse and disconnect into a compact package, Quick-Spec optimizes power system flexibility and reduces the footprint of the electrical control equipment.

Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting includes indoor and outdoor vaportight luminaires for use in applications where dirt, moisture and corrosion problems exist. These enclosed luminaires are gasketed making them robust for harsh environments.

Sadara can also count on products made to succeed in the most punishing conditions. Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series rugged nickel-plated brass cable glands resist corrosion, and perform dependably no matter what. Crouse-Hinds series high-intensity discharge lighting is the toughest of the tough. These specialized lighting solutions provide the processing environment with secure, safe lighting with a maximized product life to reduce maintenance and associated costs.
Eaton's application-specific experts are experienced at solving the industry's most daunting challenges — with a complete portfolio of products.

Safety, reliability and innovation to stay out in front.

The challenge of powering Sadara’s expansive and visionary facility was truly inspiring. Eaton was there to help think beyond today—and anticipate the needs of tomorrow—delivering world-class products and expertise, hands-on engineering and on-site support to make it a reality. Going forward, Sadara will have the power to propel new industry growth and transform the region. And we’re there to help Sadara stay “out in front” every step of the way.
The Quik-Spec family of products provides fusible solutions that make it simple and cost effective to selectively coordinate a fused electrical distribution system.
