BECOGUR 3500 diatomaceous earth is a coarse diatomaceous earth for clarifying liquids heavily loaded with turbidities in the food and beverage industry. It is also ideally suited for primary pre-coating.
Diatomaceous earth is produced from the silicaceous deposits of microscopic diatoms. The powdery BECOGUR 3500 diatomaceous earth is produced by mixing specially selected particle sizes. It is largely free from non-filtering components such as fine dust and silica sand.
Type | Grade of diatomaceous earth | Darcy |
BECOGUR 100 | Very fine | 0.04 |
BECOGUR 200 | Fine | 0.08 |
BECOGUR 1200 | Medium fine | 0.26 |
BECOGUR 3500 | Coarse | 1.45 |
BECOGUR 4500 | Very coarse | 6.00 |
Permeability is measured in Darcy. One Darcy is equal to 1 ml/s, i.e. the flow through a cube of filtration sheet/filter aid having an edge length of 1 cm with a water column of 1 m of the filtered liquid. |
